SENTIDO COMON

Reminders for PC users without warranties:

1. Don't put the laptop or desktop pc in the cabinet/box/any enclosure for more than 6 months after usage. The electronic parts may somehow degrade leading to pc not powering up, nor booting up, nor reading the hdd, nor fan spinning then finally motherboard replacement. From time to time, make an effort to turn the pc on.
2. The battery of the laptop usually has a life of a year. So don't think that your battery is malfunctioning just because it looses voltage very fast. It will depend also on your applications loaded and your pc handling. And if there's such thing as repairing the battery, better yet get a new one, don't repair.
3. If the motherboard isn't working, after a technician told you so, it's still the safest and not a pain in the ass to just purchase a new laptop/pc, rather than going through the hassle of looking for the same model or a compatible model or bringing the pc for repair. Replacement of such has the same price of buying a new pc (to some extent).
4. Bringing the pc to a repair shop has PROFFESIONAL FEES. Even if you think you know the problem of your pc, the technician might agree or disagree with what you think after diagnosting the pc. There's no such thing as you bring the pc to a repair shop, and if the pc is not working still due to mobo problems (and replacement of such is not recommended due to time constraint or price or availability), you're not paying the labor/diagnostics capabilities of the technician. It's like going to a doctor with consultation fees, whether the doctor gave you medicine and was fine or got worst, you still has to pay the fee.
5. Don't over emphasize your panic strengths over minor problems like the button sticking on the tower. The button might just be needing some twisting/cleaning. These are just mechanical parts that most often than not full of dust/dirt. Just like the mouse ball.
6. For laptops, if you're fed up with it coz you see no video on screen, even though the power button is on, and you have important files on the hard drive, remove the hdd, purchase a covering or enclosure, and walah! Your internal harddrive turned into portable external harddrive! If you have a another pc, why don't you remove the RAM (memory) of the faulty pc and transfer to the working pc: it will add additional RAM, so does speed on pc. And enjoy selling other parts of the faulty pc to e-bay (make sure they are still working fool!)
7. Huh, much for tonight. I wana sleep. You wana know the reason I created this post? Coz of this guy who refused to pay my professional services in diagnosting a 2year-old-resting-inside-a-cabinet laptop (the palmrest's rubber is melting to some extent that merely putting your finger will create footprints all over the laptop. DIAGNOSIS: needs mobo replacement (customer has the feeling of needing a change of mobo when he brought the pc to me). For fckuer's sake, replacing an obsolete mobo is like finding a needle in a hay stack, and if ever there is a compatible mobo, the price mostly has the same price of purchasing a new laptop! crazy...

...to end: count then share your blessings to others..
