Using the registry, you can remove the old serial key and replace it with a new genuine one without reformatting your computer and loosing your files. Here's the step:
1. Start
2. Run
3. type regedit
4. Click the plus of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Software, Microsoft, WindowsNT, Current Version
5. Highlight WPAEvents
6. on the right click OOBETimer
7. Modify
8. change at least one digit on the Value Data Text Box. This process deactivates windows.
9. apply, ok, close the window
10. Start
11. Run
12. type this %systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a
13. Windows Product Activation window will come out then select Yes, over the telephone
14. select change the product key
15. after all is done, restart your computer.
