How to activate BES using etisalat SIM

BES is a blackberry enterprise service. It is being offered also by Etisalat. For this case, our company has a host server from Intermedia, and one of my boss purchased a blackberry with Etisalat SIM and he wanted to check his emails right on his blackberry, even when he is out of the country (UAE). Things that I done were
1. To make sure that his SIM has enabled BES services from Etisalat. Our company wrote a letter to activate the service on that particular SIM plus roaming capabilities too.
2. Next was to wait until Etisalat activates the request.
3. Once activated, make sure that the right SIM is inserted (you cannot use another Etisalat SIM to activate the service on another SIM).
4. Go outside to make sure that you are getting VERY STRONG signal for your blackberry (GPRS/EDGE)
5. Click on BB icon
6. Options
7. Advanced Options
8. Enterprise Activation
9. type the email address and password for your blackberry enterprise service (the password will be different from your usual outlook email password)
10. Press BB icon
11. Select ACTIVATE
Wait until all the service is activated and complete, then that's it.

How to wipe handheld in blackberry

Before, I am using the Blackberry download manager to install the basic or factory settings of blackberry devices, then eventually upgrade it. But there is another way of installing the factory settings if you haven't installed the blackberry download manager yet by going through this:
1. Press BB icon
2. Go to Options
3. Select security options
4. Then go to General Settings
5. Press the BB icon again
6. Select Wipe Handheld
It will bring your blackberry device to its original settings.

HOW TO UPDATE OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK (AOB) IN OUTLOOK 2007?

Scenario: My work computer is setup with Microsoft Outlook 2007 and is getting it's contact list from the Exchange server. Unfortunately, after the administrator added new contact and you search their names on your contact list (the folder set by the server or your Offline Address Book), it is not updated yet. Here is the solution:

1. Open Oulook 2007
2. Click on the arrow down beside Send/Receive button
3. Click on Download Address Book
4. The Oflfine Address Book dialogue box will be opened
5. Make sure to select the folder to where the lists are saved then OK.
6. Close Outlook then restart it.
It might take 5-10 minutes but it's worth the wait.
FYI: The reason you're not updated yet compared to other computers is because of different time frames specified on individual's outlook and so with the server too.

How to Uninstall Norton 7,8,9,10 but you need to type the password?

I had this client that when I'm uninstalling the Norton software from the pc, it is asking me to type the password that I don't know. Checking the net, (thanks to you...) this password is usually from a network drive / server (if the computer is part of an organization in an office setting). Getting into the registry will definitely uninstall the Norton after changing the value of "UseVPUninstallPassword" from 1 to zero. Here is the step:
1. Go to Start, Run, type regedit
2. Click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
3. Next on SOFTWARE
4. Go to INTEL
5. Then on LANDesk
6. Followed by VirusProtect6
7. Click on CurrentVersion8. Then on AdministratorOnly
9. Highlight Security then on the right side look for the item UseVPUninstallPassword.
10. Double click then change the value from 1 to 0.
11. Apply then restart the computer.
12. Go back to Add/remove programs, then uninstall Norton. It won't ask for passwords anymore.
My problem was I didn't notice that below UseVPUninstallPassword, there is similar in text that reads like VPUinstallPassword. That's what I changed the value of 0 from a very long number, though it didn't affect the uninstallation of Norton after figuring out I made a mistake!

How to remove ctrl-alt-del during startup in XP?

Without removing the hard drive from the laptop to backup whatever my client has on his pc, I was able to go through the Administrator account and disable the dialogue box that's coming every time the pc restart: Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to log on! (I'm planning to reload the OS after I backed up all the files, but no need).
1. I went to safe mode by pressing F8 and without any minute, the dialogue box came out again. Whatever username there is, remove that and change it to "Administrator", if you know the password of that account, type that in, but on this case I'm working with, I don't know. So I didn't put anything on the password. Click OK, then I was able to enter the desktop screen.
2. From there, go to Control Panel, User Account. Go to Advanced tab then remove the tick for Require users to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete. Click Apply then Ok.
3. If you want to remove the password for every user account, do so, remove the password, or change the password and write it down.
4. Restart the computer. You shouldn't see the dialogue box again.
5. There is another way in removing this box, but you have to go to the registry to disable it.
