How to disable checkdisk during startup on Vista OS

CHKDSK is short for check disk. On Windows operating systems, it is used for checking bad sectors or faults on the hard drive. My question is: is it necessary every time I restart my computer? No. This is what I did on one of my client's computer after seeing the chkdsk every time I restart the pc, to my annoyance:

1. Go to Pearl button, type regedit then press the Enter key.
2. Click the arrow before HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
3. Do the same for SYSTEM
4. Then on CurrentControlSet
5. Next on Control
6. Highlight on Session Manager
7. Double click on the name BootExecutive on the right pane
8. Add /k.C before * so it will look like autocheck autochk /k.C*
9. Click OK, then restart your computer

Toggle view between LCD to external monitor on Mac systems

I have this client that his PowerBook G4 mac computer has a very dim light after dropping. Checking the computer further, I found out it has something to do with the LCD screen and a replacement needs to be done. The workaround for this problem, if he don't want to replace the LCD is to connect the computer to an external monitor. How do you do that? To set the view on the external monitor, for newer systems, when booting up, press

Command + F1, press for 2 or more seconds,

until the view toggles from the LCD to the external monitor. For some systems, all you need to do is to press on

F7 hold it down while powering on.

Downloadable torrent files, where?

Let me start by informing you what a torrent is: it is a small metadata file. What is a metadata file? It's a file that contains information about a certain data you are trying to download. It is not the data itself, take note. So why do we need it? Because without torrent files, it would be hard for you to download it directly from a source. A source is usually a website or a computer connected to the internet (using P2P connection, if I'm not mistaken) so you can access them.

On the other hand, queentorrent specializes on tv torrents, movies, games, music, software, pictures and books. They have a wide range of selection that downloading will make it easy for users and these torrents are upgraded on their database almost everyday. Some things aren't made to last forever huh! Navigate on the site and be surprised on things that you can download from there. See you there!

More with parallels desktop

Q: What is the side effect of installing a dual boot on mac?
A: Since Mac is using the boot camp, it will slow the booting and turning off processes. While with windows, it won't affect the speed of the booting process.
Q: What is the reason why there is a lag in booting up Mac OS while there's none with Windows?
A: The boot camp recognizes the Windows more than the Mac. Poor guy.
Q: What about installing the parallels desktop, what is the effect?
A: Parallels Desktop 4.0 for Mac (pls check if there are newer versions, I'm not updated) is good for opening Windows while on Mac OS. As of the moment, it is good for XP and Vista, not yet for Windows 7. Most problems I encouter while in Mac simultanuously with Windows is that some usb devices works with Mac while it won't be opened on Windows and vice versa. Others like the cd-drive also works in Windows but not on Mac and vice versa. Not unless you turn off the computer and start over again with the device connected to it, hope it works.

How to remove the startup items in Mac

In Mac, they are called Login Items. Like Windows, these items are bugging you off every time the computer starts. To turn these items off, click on

Apple icon, System Preferences, Accounts, highlight your account name, Login Items (located on the right pane).

From there, you can hide the services that are coming out every time you restart the computer by merely ticking on the boxes. If you have other account names listed, check it out too coz this will have an effect only on the account that is highlighted.

Check at the bottom of the right pane, there are "+" and "-" symbols. Even without checking the hide option next to an application you want to delete, by merely highlighting it then clicking on the "-" negative sign, it will be removed from the list. Same is true with the positive sign, if you want an application to be included during startup, click this then the application folder will be displayed so you can highlight your choice then click on Add.
